Our God IS Able:
Whatever you are facing today, KNOW that God is FULLY aware of your situation. He promises YOU in His Word that He is WITH YOU ALWAYS (Joshua 1:9). And not only is He with you ALL the time, He is able to do EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY ABOVE all you can ask or think. Do YOU believe it?
He has shown me over and over again that His promises are true. In January 2020 my mother needed cervical spine surgery. It was a scary time for our family because we were well aware of the potential risks of such a delicate procedure. Weeks before her surgery family and friends prayed. We prayed my mom’s “life verse”, Ephesians 3: 20-21:
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
We trusted that not only would the Lord bless the procedure, but He would also heal my mom and take care of her every need.
Well, our God did all that AND MORE! He EXCEEDED our expectations! The surgery went smoothly even though the doctor had to change his original plans, my mom’s vocal chords were not affected, and God worked out a perfect schedule as to who could take care of her in the weeks following. In hindsight we also realized that her surgery took place BEFORE we knew anything about a pandemic. Six months after her surgery, during a final follow-up appointment, the surgeon exclaimed that my mom could be a “poster child” for the type of procedure she had. The bone in her spine grew as it was supposed to and things were in perfect alignment.
Granted my mom had a lot to do with her excellent recovery (i.e. wear a bone stimulator for months, EVERY day for several hours and follow the doctor’s orders), but WE KNOW that our Lord gave her the grace and the strength to carry on through that stressful time in her life. There were other things simultaneously going on in the life of our family that God took care of as well. I am amazed at His wisdom, grace and love.
As praying people, my family and I stood on the promise that THE ONE who works IN US can do MORE than we can even ask or think, and HE DIDN’T Disappoint! He never does! My friends, if you put your trust in God and pray his promises over your life and the lives of your loves ones, He WILL SHOW YOU how powerful He is. I have no doubt.
Pray this today:
“Lord, I invite You into the situation that I am facing today. I know that Your ways are higher than mine, so I ask that you increase my faith by showing me that YOU ARE ABLE to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that I can ask or think. I give you all the glory and honor and praise because I KNOW that You are already working on my behalf to help me with this issue. I bless Your holy name. Amen!”
